Hydrogen utilization and safety

At OBS we welcome the renewable energy market. In 2020 we therefore became engaged in a hydrogen project where we developed and built, a range extender based on a hydrogen fuel cell, in this case dedicated for zero emission boating. This led to the establishment of the company Hyrex, where OBS was one of the co-founders.

Together with Hyrex, we today have patented solutions - a regulator for automatically reducing high pressure from hydrogen gas tanks to lower to a lower and stable flow into the hydrogen fuel cells, as well as a regulator for safe and stable hydrogen venting in emergency situations.

Our regulators for hydrogen are based on patented and field proven technology for oil and gas combined with the adaption required to meet the unique properties of hydrogen.
